  • Gatsby is the opposite of Tom when it comes to expressing his love to Daisy. The tension between Gatsby and Tom builds at the palace when he senses Gatsby is in love with Daisy.
  • MAN VS. MAN
  • He was living in a corrupt society. He sold grain alcohol so he can gain riches to please Daisy because he was blinded & didn't see what money did to her & what it was doing to him. He wanted acceptance from Daisy.
  • MAN VS. SELF
  • MAN VS. SOCIETY
  • Gatsby won't be as rich and powerful as others, also won't be respected the way he wants to be. He could not achieve his goal which was the American Dream.
