  • I'm truly glad you're next in luh-line for the job, but since I'm taking over the whole show myself, lock, stock and barrel, maybe I better talk with the top man. (19)
  • Harding, I guess it would b-b-be you. This m-man wants to talk to you. (20)
  • Does this . . . gentleman have an appointment, Mr. Bibbit? (20)
  • Chapter 3 - R.P. McMurphy is trying to get the other patients to loosen up. He is trying to figure out who is in charge, the craziest, the "bull goose loony".
  • Bibbit, you tell this young upstart McMurphy . . . (21)
  • Then you tell Bull Goose Loony Harding . . . (21)
  • Billy Bibbit introduces Harding as the bull goose loony. He is the President of the Patient Council and the only one of them to go to college.
  • Mr. Bibbit, you might want to warn this Mr. Harding that I'm so crazy I admit to voting for Eisenhower. (21)
  • Bibbit! You tell Mr. McMurphy I'm so crazy I voted for Eisenhower twice! (21)
  • When Billy points him out, Harding leans back in his chair and tries to act important.
  • I take off my hat. (21)
  • Harding and McMurphy talk back and forth through Billy as if he is a receptionist even though they are within earshot of each other.
  • Harding and McMurphy go back and forth, trying to prove they are the craziest.
  • And you tell Mr. Harding right back that I'm so crazy I plan to vote for Eisenhower again. (21)
  • Harding acknowledges that McMurphy has won. Harding bows his head and shakes hands with McMurphy.
