In New York, he bought expensive clothing, stayed at an expensive hotel, and ate expensive food. Paul stole money to pay for his extravagant shopping spree. He stole the money from the place he got a job at.
Paul meets a wealthy boy from Yale. The two have a great time at the nightlife of New York. They stay out until 7 A.M.
