Trump has said he plans to create a 45% tariff on Chinese imports and a 35% tariff on some Mexican imports. This could impact 1/5 of U.S. exports.
Since the elections, the U.S dollar has lost ground as investors left and is down to 74.46. The Mexican peso has also gone down to an all time low of 20.77 pesos to the American dollar.
Prof. Jeffrey Frankel of the Harvard Kennedy School says, "My best guess is that he won't in fact tear up NAFTA or raise tariffs as widely as he has said."
