  • Russia in WWI
  • Let'fs focus on our industry, we don't need a good military! Oh wait...
  • The February Revolution
  • The Duma has taken over the throne of Czar Nicholas!
  • Bolshevik Revolution/October Revolution, 1917
  • Now the Bolsheviks have political power!
  • Russia was possibly the most unprepared of the nations involved in WWI. They had been only focusing on industrialization, so they had a very undeveloped military. Russia lost a little over 9 million, almost 15% of their population
  • Russian Civil War 1918-1919
  • We're the Bolsheviks!
  • We're the Czarists!
  • Czar Nicholas abdicated his throne and the Duma was re-established and placed in charge of ruling Russia. However, they had no real power and were unable to rule the vast area of Russia.
  • Industrial and Agricultural Reforms of Stalin, 1928
  • I want more Industry with higher demands!!
  • This revolution was lead by Vladamir Lenin. He and the Bolsheviks gained power in Russia. They quickly eliminated ownership of private property and made peace with Germany.
  • Stalin's purges, 1934
  • This will make sure I'm in power longer!
  • The Russian Civil war was Reds vs Whites, Reds being loyal to the Bolsheviks and Whites to the Czarists. The Reds killed Czar Nicholas II and defeated the white army consolidating power under Lenin and the Bolshevik party.
  • Lenin died in 1924, and Joseph Stalin took power. He moved toward Totalitarianism. He rapidly industrialized the country with high and unrealistic demands, and replaced all private farms with state owned ones.
  • Also all farms should be state owned!
  • Stalin purged the government of all who opposed him or threatened his power.
