Storyboard Text

  • Ten year old Ashley moves into her new rent home with her mom next to an old grumpy woman named Miss Cooper. She also notices a strange white cat that seems to show up everywhere and later discovers that his name is Snowball.
  • Ashley and Kristi, her neighor, find a box in Miss Cooper's garden. The box says "Anna Maria" with a doll inside. Later that night, Ashley sneaks out to the garden and takes Anna Maria into her room without anyone knowing.
  • The next day, Ashley is wandering through the hedge when she enters another world led by Snowball to meet a young girl named Louisa Perkins. Ashley learns that the girl's doll was stolen from her by another girl called Carrie. Louisa is also dying and Ashley agrees to help her get Anna Maria back to Louisa.
  • I'll help you get you doll back, I promise.
  • However, Kristi told Miss Cooper that Ashley took the doll when she found out and Miss Cooper was furious. She was given back the doll later on and Ashley took Kristi to the other world to make her feel bad about what she had done. Later, they confronted Miss Cooper and convinced her to give the doll back to Louisa in the other world, even though Miss Cooper doesn't believe them.
  • I fixed her up the best I could.
  • When they entered the other world, Miss Cooper was a small child again and they found Louisa in her bed dying. Miss Cooper apologized for taking Ann Maria and Louisa forgave her, but it didn't stop her from dying.
  • I'm sorry I took Anna Maria.
  • I think we are going to get along just fine now, you and I.
  • From then on, Miss Cooper (Carrie) got along with the two girls because they helped her get the doll back to Louisa and took back all the guilt she felt all her life.
