Al Capone was born to two Italian immigrants, January 17th, 1899 in New York City.
At the age of 14, he dropped out of Catholic School and shortly after, joined his first gang.
He got his nickname, Scarface, when he was involved in a bar fight.
The St. Valentine's Day Massacre. He wasn't present during the actual shooting, but he responsible for the idea. 7 members from the Moran gang died.
Capone was soon incarcerated in the Eastern Penitentiary where he stayed till March 16, 1930. He was later released from jail for good behavior, but was put on the America's "Most Wanted" list.
On March 13, 1931, a jury met secretly on the government's claim that in 1924, Capone had a tax liability of $32,488.81. Capone and 68 members of his gang were charged with 5,000 separate violations of the Volstead Act.
