First the person takes a bite of the food.
There are 3 types of teeth. The molars are for chewing and grinding, the canines are for ripping and tearing and the incisors are for slicing and cutting. As the food is chewed it is mixed with saliva. The tongue mixes the food and saliva together.
When the food is swallowed it goes into the esophagus. The esophagus has two sets of muscle fibres, the longitudinal muscle (which goes down the esophagus) and the circular muscles (which go around the esophagus).
Inside the stomach the food is mixed with gastric juice and HCL acid to break down the food. Gastric juice contains pepsin which starts the breakdown of protein. it also contains rennin which turns milk into a solid. The acid kills most bacteria and makes the pepsin work
There are two parts of the small intestine the duodenum and the ileum bile and pancreatic juice are added to the foo in the duodenum. intestinal juice is mixed with the the fod as it passes along the ileum.
Undigested food is made into feces and is stored before passing out through the anus.
