Alexandra, Calpurnia is not leaving until she wants to.
"The main one is, if I didn't I couldn't hold my head up in town," (100)This relates to the theme "Stand up for what you believe in" because Atticus is defending Tom Robinson. Atticus believes and know that Tom didn't didn't, so he his standing up for him even though he knows he won't win the case.
"Alexandra, Calpurnia's not leaving this house until she wants to." (182)"This relates to the theme "Stand up for what you believe in" because Atticus is standing up for Calpurnia against Aunt Alexandra. Atticus believes in Calpurnia and considers her family so he is fighting for her to stay.
"He did not begin to calm down until he had cut the top off every camelia bush Mrs. Dubose owned, until the ground was littered with green buds and leaves." (137) This relates to the theme "Stand up for what you believe in" because Jem was standing up for Atticus when he damaged Mrs. Dubose's flowers. Jem believes in Atticus and respects him so when Mrs. Dubose kept insulting his father he had to do something about it.
