As a child, I was very poor and lived in a very run-down house.
In school, I played flute in the band. But soon after joining, band was cut as a class. I loved playing so I needed to find a different way to perform.
This is were I played for the locals of my city for around six years. Because I was on the streets, I needed to learn to play a louder instrument, so I chose trumpet. One day, a producer was in our town and heard me play. He decided to take me to a nearby city, New Orleans, to record some songs for him.
Before I knew it, I was playing every night at their local theater. I was getting payed almost $50 a week! It was much more than I ever had growing up.
Soon, I was living in an amazing house, which I invited my family back home to live in with me.
After five years of this lifestyle, I decided to go get private lessons which helped me be more successful as a musician.
