Lewis and Clark found Sacagawea and her children in the mountains of upper Missouri, she was a huge help during their expedition because she knew the territory well. Sacagawea had been living there her whole life so she was confident about being a part of the journey West.
The journey was very tough and difficult, it was hard to keep warm and not starve to death. Sacagawea was the only one who had any idea where they were going so that was risky but the only option.
On September 23, 1806, they finally made it to Oregon! Although, along the way there, Sacagawea's baby died. When they made it to Oregon they looked around and were so joyful that they survived the whole expedition.
