Jess and her friends are walking down the sidewalk when they see a silhouette as black as midnight coming after them. They automatically go into a full out sprint. The silhouette starts to single out Jess as his target.
The silhouette still manages to get Jess despite her best efforts to escape. Everyone is left wondering where she is being taken. When Jess is in the air she cries out for help as a natural reflex.
After the silhouette drops her in a strange place, Michael, a young boy with a face you wouldn’t forget, helps her get up. Jess begins to frantically ask basic questions about her current situation. Michael tries to calm her down so he can get through to her.
Michael tells her she is in Neverland. He also explains the rules of Neverland. Micheal says ”You are in Neverland. You are only here if you don’t have any true friends and the only way to escape is by finding true friendship”.
Jess asks Michael why the shadow only takes people who are lonely. Michael explains, “Ever since Peter Pan died, his shadow has been missing it’s other half, so it surrounds itself with people like him.” Then Michael gets up and starts to take Jess to meet John, another kid trapped in Neverland.
Jess, in denial of why she was taken, starts a conversation. “This is pointless, I don’t need to get to know these people. I have friends at home, Pan’s shadow must’ve made a mistake.” John gets up and starts to question Jess about her friends. She tells them surface level facts and realizes that she and her friend aren’t that close together.
