  • The Texan army grew to 300 after Texas forces drove out Mexican troops at Gonzales on October 2, 1835
  • The Texans advanced on October 12, 1835 toward San Antonio. This was where Gen. Martian Perfecto de Cos concentrated mexain forces numbering 650
  • October 27, 1835 Austin sent Bowie and Fannin to Nuestra Senora de la Purisima Concepcion from San Francisco de la Espada mission with 90 men to locate a position near the town for the army
  • ON November 8, 1835 William Barrett Travis led the capture of 300 Mexican mules and horses on Medina River
  • On November 23,1835 Erestus Smith reported approaching. Mexican cavalry. Burleson then ordered troops to cut them off. Both sides attacked near Alazan Creek. This engagement was called The Grass Fight because captured Mexican supply animals carried fodder for horses rather than rumored pay for Mexican soldiers
  • Cos asked for surrender terms on December 9,1835 after the Texans attacked buildings and dug treches to connect them
