Storyboard Text

  • 4 friends went on a camping trip for science class to find out more about heat transfers.
  • Radiation
  • Hey, look it's a birds nest, also an insulator.
  • Radiation is heat transfer through invisible waves.
  • I can feel the radiation of the heat from the fire.
  • OUCH! That's really hot!
  • Conduction
  • Conduction is heat transfer by direct contact.
  • She has a conductor.
  • Convection is when heat flows from warm to cold. Known as convection currents.
  • Convection
  • Conductors
  • Equilibrium
  • OUCH! These metal rods are both EQUALLY hot.
  • Equilibrium is when two objects have the same temperature. Also when heat moves from cool to cool.
  • Did you know our jeans are insulators?
  • Insulators are a material or an object that does not easily allow heat, electricity, light, or sound to pass through it.
  • Conductors are materials that allow electric charge to move through it as an electric current.
