THE WAR OF 1812 James Madison, who was president at the time, was tired of everything.
Britain had been kidnapping American sailors, and were helping a Native American resistance take place.
It was time........For WAR!!!
Phase one: Madison sent possibly the craziest man in the world, Commodoer Hazard Perry to fight British ships in one of the Great Lakes.
Phase two: The British attacked and burned down the White House at Washington D.C.
Phase three: Andrew Jackson became a war hero for fending off the British in Lousisiana.
As for the effects of the war, two main things happened: 1: American Partiotism increased. 2: Manufacturing and industry in U.S. increased, which will later lead to the Industrial Revolution.
