Storyboard Text

  • "Tom loves Daisy"
  • Daisy compliments Gatsby
  • Wtf?!?!
  • Daisy's struggle
  • He nodded sagely. "And what's more, I love Daisy too. Once in a while I go off on a spree and make a fool out of myself, but I always come back, and in my heart I love her all the time." (7.251-252)
  • Gatsby's wealth
  • "You always look so cool," she repeated. She had told him that she loved him, and Tom Buchanan saw. He was astounded. His mouth opened a little, and he looked at Gatsby, and then back at Daisy as if he had just recognized her as some one he knew a long time ago. (7.79-82)
  • Driving in the Night
  • "Oh, you want too much!" she cried to Gatsby. "I love you now – isn't that enough? I can't help what's past." She began to sob helplessly. "I did love him once – but I loved you too." (7.264-266)
  • Daisy Hits Myrtle with the car
  • "I found out what your 'drug-stores' were"..."alcohol over the counter. That's one of his little stunts. I picked him for a bootlegger the first time I saw him, and I wasn't far wrong.""What about it?" said Gatsby politely. "I guess your friend Walter Chase wasn't too proud to come in on it." (7.284-285)
  • "So we drove on toward death through the cooling twilight (7.306-309)
  • "Yes," he said after a moment"..."this woman rushed out at us just as we were passing a car coming the other way. It all happened in a minute, but it seemed to me that she wanted to speak to us, thought we were somebody she knew. The second my hand reached the wheel I felt the shock – it must have killed her instantly." (7.396-398)
