  • Churchill's Famous "Iron Curtain" Speech
  • Truman Doctrine
  • NATO Formed
  • Churchill's Iron Curtain speech was mainly based off of how East and West Germany was split up. He said there was basically an imaginary curtain that basically divided Europe in two.  
  • Warsaw Pact Formed
  • The Truman Doctrine was a document maid by president Harry Truman. He stated that the US would no longer support the Greek Government. It would not provide military or economic support. 
  • Arms Race
  • NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also called The North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between several North American and European states.
  • Space Race
  • The Warsaw Pact was a collective defense treaty among the Soviet Union and seven Soviet satellite states in Central and Eastern Europe during the Cold War.
  • The arms race was a competition for supremacy in nuclear warfare between the United States, the Soviet Union, and their respective allies during the Cold War.
  • The Space Race refers to the 20th-century competition between two Cold War rivals, the Soviet Union and the United States, for supremacy in spaceflight capability.
