Storyboard Text

  • Hey Francis! Why are you red? Do you have a rash?
  • Yea I do. I have been having it for a little more than 2 weeks. I don't know what it is.
  • I think I know what it is. You have a bad case of epidemic parotitis, also known as the MUMPS.
  • Mumps? How does that look like?
  • Mumps is transmitted by a simple droplet inhalation. For example droplets of saliva, or mucus coming from the mouth, nose, or throat.
  • How is mumps transmitted?
  • Some of the symptoms include: painful swelling in salivary glands, dry mouth, mild stomach pain, and fever.
  • oh okay. I probably got it when Sally sneezed on me. Well if that's how it is transmitted, what are the symptoms?
  • Mumps is a bad virus for both adults and children. It takes a week to for the swelling to disappear and children usually recover from 10-12 days.
  • I have been feeling fever and stomach pain. I mumps a bad virus? How long does the activity take?
  • The reproduction of the mumps occurs when the virus is spread onto another person by droplet inhaling and multiplies in the cytoplasm and is released through budding.
  • How does the virus reproduce?
  • Well thank you David. Now I have to go, I don't want you getting the mumps either. Bye!
