Mailen arrives at her trabajo, the Buenos Aires Herald, and starts on the days article. The periódico has been receiving threats because of its coverage of the disappearances.
Mailen meets up with her siblings after school, only to find Sergio crying in a corner by the cafetería. He tells her that Camilia has disappeared, last seen with talking with a few other estudiantes.
Mailen and Sergio run to their casa, worried that they might be caught too. Mailen reflects on her decisions and worries about what the futuro holds for her and her hermano.
Mailen and Sergio talk about the desapariciones, from their padres to their hermana. They debate on whether to call their grandparents in Italy.
Mailen contacts her mother's family in Italy with the teléfono in the diner. They offer to buy her billetes de avión to Italy for her and Sergio, and debates between accepting, traveling to the US, or staying in Argentina, despite the danger.
