Storyboard Text

  • William James' - Ineffability
  • I honestly can't explain! It's amazing and I love her so much!
  • How's things with you and Lucy? What's love like?
  • William James' - Noetic Quality
  • I feel enlightened now! Thank you
  • You are welcome!
  • William James' - Transiency
  • No longer than 30 minutes!!
  • Once experienced a religious experience, it cannot be described using words as others cannot understand what it's like. For example, if you've never been in love it's hard to describe it to somebody else.
  • William James' - Passivity
  • Those who have experienced a religious experience know the true nature of reality.
  • Richard Swinburne- Cumulative Argument
  • Religious experiences don't last a long period of time- it is rare for them to last longer than 30 minutes.
  • Richard Swinburne- Inductive Argument
  • When in an experience, you are not in control. The correct conditions are produced for an experience.
  • If you put those who have had a religious experience all together, it makes a convincing argument as there is more people saying that they have experienced God, therefore he exists.
  • Inductive means that if the premise is true, the conclusion is likely. Religious experiences don't prove God's existence but just make it likely for him to exist. E.G- If God made the world, it's more likely for him to exist.
