Building a Community of Learners Ellisa Smith
This storyboard does not have a description.
Hi Class! My name is Mrs. Smith. Welcome to the Second Grade! I am so excited to have all of you as my students this year! Please take a seat at the desk with your name on it.
Thank you for taking your seats! Once, everyone has arrived, we will be going over my expectations and procedures, and together we will come up with some rules for our class!
I am going to go over morning procedures for our class. Once you have arrived to the classroom, please hang up your coats, place your homework folder in the red basket on my desk, and finally take your seat and wait for class to begin.
What rules would you like to see in the classroom kids?
I think everyone should treat others the way they want to be treated Mrs. Smith
Keep your hands and feet to yourself!
Follow directions from the teacher!
Those are some great ideas class! I agree with your rules. I will add some more to that, and I will go over them after we do an ice breaker!
It is important that we build a community of learners in our classroom. In order to do that we must get to know one another. On your desks is a circle. We are going to write our names on it. Once everyone is done the first person will bring it to me and you will introduce yourself to the class and say an interesting fact about yourself. We will staple it on the wall. Each person will put theirs next to the others. After we are done, the circles will create one big caterpillar. This will symbolize we are all part of one learning team!
