  • The 1970s was a decade that actively addressed growing environmental issues in the US. April 22, 1970 marked the first Earth Day, on which thousands of communities, public schools, and universities hosted environmental awareness activities and brought up the problems that the earth was facing at that time. The Earth Day celebration continues still today.
