Storyboard Text

  • The Mongols have taken much of Asia with their military might.  We must set an alliance with them to protect us from sea pirates and other unseen threats.
  • Shogun Yoritomo, why must you seek an audience with those barbarians especially when they tried taking and destroying out homeland?
  • Good evening Emperor Khubilai Khan.  It's rather cold, may we talk inside?
  • Hello Shogun and welcome to Karakorum!
  • I am aware of your extraordinary feat of expanding your empire and even conquering southern China and I am also aware of the legacy of your grandfather, Chinggis Khan and is many successful "campaigns".
  • I thank you for your compliments but please proceed.
  • Despite having different views of government, we both follow a similar command through military rule.  We also follow a native warrior tradition.  So I ask, may we forget the past and build an alliance?
  • Why should we build an alliance with you? We built our empire through conquest.
  • We Mongols were a nomadic tribe who had to fight for what we have now.
  • You have allowed Chinese and Muslim influence into your empire.  Allow us to pass our aristocratic culture and how Bushido practices to you.  We can learn of our different military strategies and further increase our own interests.
  • I have no need to join an alliance with you.  In time we will have your island.
  • Your culture and "way of the warrior" are too different to compliment each other
  • Have you no honor?!  You can't do this!  We were simply defending ourselves! You cant do this!
  • As a matter of fact we lost 30,000 men and 150,000 fleets because of you! Guards search him and take him to the dungeon!
