Circe turns Eurylochus' men into pigs
Eurylochus returns and Odysseus departs to confront Circe
"And so, numbering off my band of men at arms into two platoons, I assigned them each a leader: I took one, and Lord Eurylochus the other."
Hermes appears with Moly, to protect Odysseus from Circe's drugs.
"...suddenly she struck with her wand, drove them into her pigsties, all of them bristling into swine-with grunts, snouts-even their bodies..."
Circe lavishes him and instructs him to return with the rest of his men.
"Back Eurylochus ran to our swift black ship to tell the disaster our poor friends had faced."
Circe lets them go
"With that the giant-killer handed over the magic herb..."
"But come now, eat your food and drink your wine 'til the same courage fills your chest, now as then, when you first set sail from native land, from rocky Ithaca."
"Back to the swift ship at the water's edge we went, our spirits deep in anguish, our faces wet with tears."
