Why is there so much oil?!?
With large quantities of oil being produced that outpaced the national command.By 1902 oil prices had hit an all time low of 3 cents a barrel. These changes in price were part of a boom-and-bust cycle, or alternating periods of growth and depression in an industry or economy.
Too much oil!!!!
Working in Texas fields was rough, dirty, and dangerous. Laborers usually worked 12 hours shifts. O.G. Lawson recalled workers were sometimes burned gas wells that they had no way of controlling.Gases escaping from wells could help or kill.
