  • Hi, I am Eva. I have chosen to do the Han Dynasty for my report. I will be telling you about their Medicine, Science, Art, Warfare, and Agriculture. I hope you enjoy!
  • Introduction
  • Here we are in a hospital, They did not have hospitals there, but they did learn blood circulates the body and the heart pumps it. They created acupuncture and moxibustion. they also think that sickness comes from the unbalanced of the yin and yang. In order to re-balance it you must experience pain.
  • Medicine
  • The Han Dynasty also created magnetic compasses and seismographs. Seismographs determined where an earthquake was. A compass pointed in the direction you were. They used compasses to position temples, homes and graves. They believed it would bring good fortune to them.
  • Science
  • Here we are in a modern day art room. Art was a very important advance in the Han Dynasty. They created calligraphy, a fancy type of writing. They also created paper. Before paper they used silk which rolled up in to scrolls but it cost a lot. They put a pulp, made of bamboo, seaweed, hemp, and straw along with silk fibers, on a screen and let it dry. That resulted in paper.
  • Art
  • The Han Dynasty had a couple of new weapons, too. They made iron swords, crossbows, and fish scale-like armor. They used kites for military purposes like scaring the enemy. they also had a very well organized military which helped expand their territory
  • Warfare
  • The farmers have many hardships including floods and droughts. they also have to feed their families and fill the granaries. They also had to build their own houses and make their own clothes. They also made an irrigation system. It moved water uphill. They had iron workers create plows for them, too.
