From what I remembered in class, there were these two people named Karl Marx and Adam Smith. They.... had entirely different views.
On one hand you had Adam Smith, a man who believed that the government didn't need to intervene with private business and that the people could make the best profit by running their own business.
But on the other hand we had Karl Marx who thought that the government should control ALL facets of the economy and dispense the wealth evenly throughout the country.
WOOOOAAAHHH!! I never thought about it like that!
I'm telling you! It could be very hard to live in a time period with 2 different ideas competing!!!
