Storyboard Text

  • NO
  • Give me your food!
  • I need your name and your family's name
  • My name is Michael Jordan!
  • Let's take his stuff!
  • YEAH!
  • Napoleon ran into the problem of the Indians wanting his food and expecting him to share. He countered this by becoming aggressive and yelling. The Yanomamo people use aggression and violence to be respected. They also take sharing their items and food very seriously.
  • YOU WILL RESPECT ME OR ELSE!
  • Now that is the way to earn our respect.
  • Napoleon had trouble getting accurate information of the Yanomamo people's names and family history because they would make up names and lie to Napoleon about their names and family history.
  • Napoleon would constantly have his things be taken from his hut.
  • Hello, I am Napoleon and I am here for research
  • What is he saying??
  • To get respect, Napoleon had to act aggressive and angry or he would continue to be subjected to ridicule and being taken advantage of.
  • The Yanomamo tribe did not trust Napoleon for a long time, so Napoleon had to set up his hut outside of the village.  Only until Napoleon acted like them did they start to trust him.
  • There was a barrier gap between Napoleon and the Yanomamo tribe. It was very easy to trick Napoleon and lie to him, especially about the information he was trying to possess.
