“Puppies are a lot of hard work, you know,” Mother warned. Daniel nodded- he knew everything there was to raising a dog. He had read every book in the school library and was finally ready for a forever friend.
Daniel’s breath fogged up the glass as he pointed to the tiniest puppy of the bunch, a white and brown dog whose ears flopped in different directions. “That’s the one!” Daniel exclaimed.
Mother and Father agreed that this was the perfect puppy. Father paid for the puppy while Mother gathered their supplies; he had gathered a leash, bowls, and plenty of puppy treats. Daniel’s new friend sat perfectly still in his arm as they left the store.
