Odysseus sets sail away from Troy with his crew.
Odysseus and his crew go through several deathly encounters, such as encountering the cyclops polyphemus.
Eventually, Odysseus' ship is hit by a storm and it is destroyed. He washes up on the shore of the island owned by Calypso.
Though Calypso loves Odysseus, the gods order her to help him escape the island. She helps him build a strong raft to sail away.
While sailing away, his raft is destroyed by a storm made by Poseidon. With help, he survives and swims to the island owned by the Phaeacians. They send him home.
With the help of the gods, Odysseus reunites with his son. He learns about the problem with the suitors. Together, with the gods, they devise a plan to kill the suitors.
