  • Shild the Sheaf-Child was once a lowly, abandonedn orphan, be he was able to rise up and become a great king of the Danes despite his lowly birth.
  • Eventually, Shild's great-grandson, Hrothgar, took the throne and built the greatest mead hall ever constructed. It was named Herot, and in that towering place Hrothgar and his men drank and told of their brave battles
  • How was your battle yesterday, Hrothgar?
  • All of the music and singing angered Grendel, the terror of the swamp. So every night Grendel came and slaughtered Herot's honorable heros.
  • Finally, peace and quiet Told them to stay out of my swamp
  • Beowulf heard of the terrible deeds that Grendel had committed, and was greatly distressed and vowed revenge against Grendel.
  • I bring news from Hrothgar.
  • This is terrible!
  • So Beowulf had a great ship built for him and his men, and they crossed the sea to aid Hrothgar
  • Beowulf asks to see Hrothgar, and Hrothgar tells his men to let him in.
  • Ok
  • Let them in
  • We wish to speak with Hrothgar
