Jerome- protagonist, story follows him for several years Jerome's father- no sense of humor, his death changed the story a lot
Jerome's father is killed by a falling pig. The pig symbolizes the stress and depression on people and the father symbolizes the people. The death symbolizes people giving up when things get too hard emotionally.
"A SHOCKING ACCIDENT"
The main conflict was very hard on Jerome. Jerome had to learn to live without his dad/best friend. He went through a lot of struggles with his fathers death. Although it was hard on him, Jerome did learn over the years how to cope with his fathers death.
Jerome taught himself how to cope. He realized death is a part of life and continued on, although hard on him.
I think this story was to teach us to struggles and burdens in life will bring you down if you let them. But also more used as a turning point or eye opener to show people you have to be strong.
