  • Rising Action
  • Dublin, Ireland, near the O'Connell Bridge. Republicans and Free-Staters were waging civil war. The sniper is eating a sandwich and decides to take a smoke, He knew it is dangerous, the flash could be seen by enemies.
  • Climax
  • There are a few points of conflict in this story. One is where he is smoking and another sniper on the roof across the street shoots at him. Another is when an armoured truck comes down the street and stops, and a woman comes from the side and points to the sniper. One more is when the sniper kills the one across the street.
  • Falling Action
  • An armoured truck comes down the street. A woman comes from the side of the street and points to the sniper, who kills a man in the truck and the woman. During this fight, the sniper across the street shoots the first sniper's arm so he can no longer use his rifle.
  • Resolution
  • The sniper had his right arm shot, and he could no longer use his rifle because of this. He thought of a plan to kill the sniper across the street who did this. He put his cap on his rifle and dangled it over the edge, let it fall after it was shot, dropped the rifle, and hid. The other sniper stood up, and the first sniper took careful aim with his rifle and killed the second sniper.
  • The first sniper watched the second fall of the roof, then decided to go find his company commander, and wondered who he had shot, if he knew him.
  • He goes down to the street, looks at the dead man, and sees his brother's face.
