Christy had just introduced us to a new topic we were doing in class called 6 Word Memoirs. I just knew this would be so hard including when I heard her say I basically have to describe myself in 6 words!
I LOVE THIS ONE!
What about this one?
My mind was in the clouds. I had to create a 6 Word Memoir that has to be about me. It is hard enough for me to describe myself or tell someone something about me. This is worse because I just have 6 words. So I think.....
After I thought about what I was going to do for a bit I was able to think of at least one 6 Word Memoir. When I got home I quickly went to write it down. It helped me to write it. Once I wrote it down I did not stop writing. I kept drafting and writing more memoirs.
The next day at school I picked out my favorite memoir and showed my friend. After showing her she told me I should consider another memoir instead. She told me what she thought and changed my mind about the one I picked. Talking to her really helped.
When I went home that day with my new memoir I went on Christy's website to read articles about 6 Word Memoirs. This helped me because it gave me more of an idea of that memoirs are all about and what makes a good memoir. Boy was my memoir good.
I am in class feeling happy and proud. I finished my memoir! Something I thought would be so hard actually was not so bad. The process really guided me. I knew that when I handed in my memoir it was something I put a lot of thought into and worked on.
