Storyboard Text

  • Hey Tyrone you ready to head to school?
  • Sure Joey, lets walk over to the bus stop.
  • So you ready to workout at the gym Joey?
  • You bet Tyrone, Its kind of ironic to workout before a muscle test don't you think.
  • Tyrone did you remember to study about muscle contractions?
  • I was only able to do a little, lets go to the science lab and do some more.
  • You know that the brain and spinal chord are part of the Central Nervous System right Joey?
  • Oh man I thought they were the Peripheral Nervous System and I don't even want to know what sliding filament theory is.
  • Well the A-band is all the myosin in a sarcomere and an I-band is all of the actin and there are two of them.
  • Well it's actually quite simple Joey. A sarcomere is the form of measurement in muscle filaments.
  •
  • OH okay and the thick and thin lines in between them are the actin and myosin. Okay, but what are A-bands and I-bands?
  • Okay I feel confidant about that now but what about this nerve stuff how does it work?
  • That's right Joey your doing great. Then after a trip down the path the signal hits the ventral horn of the spinal cord and then goes through the ventral root to reach its destination.
  • Well first of all you have to know how things get around.
  • And the ventral horn and root are part of a spinal nerve aren't they.
  • Oh I know this one they send signals through motor pathways to get throughout the body.
