This scene overall describes the death of a fireman during the California Wildfires that took place during the summer of 2015. As a reporter, I would look at the death of a fireman who recently died in these fires and want to show the consequences of throwing a lit cigarette out of a vehicle into dry brush. Something as small as a cigarette ember has caused thousands of square miles to be burned, and has killed several heroes who tried to contain it. I would hope this piece of journalism would get people concerned and show them what kind of destruction a simple lit cigarette can do.
The first cell shows firefighters fighting a fire and escaping as the flames become too much to control. Then transition to a forest that has been contained but is the spot where the firefighter died. Then transition to his funeral where his wife and newborn mourn their loss. The reason is then explained for the fire -- a person who threw their cigarette out of their moving vehicle started the fire, which would cost many their lives and homes. Law makers in California then decide to put laws into affect to bring harsher punishments to those throwing litter and cigarettes on the ground. The final scene is that of a police officer pulling over a young man who has just thrown his cigarette from his moving vehicle. Firefighters are in the background trying to contain the small fire that the small ember of a cigarette has caused.
