The British won the Seven Years' war and made the French sign the Treaty of Paris. Under the treaty French lost all of it's clams to British.
Seven Years' War 1754-1763
The Great Deportation 1713-1755
Many of the Acadians were deported for Acadia if they didn't takes the "Oath of Allegiance" they were deported.
Royal Proclamation 1763
This is the Proclamation line. On this side of the line is for British and this side is the "Indian Territory."
The Battle of the Plains of Abraham only lasted a hour. British captured Quebec, the capital of New France.

Treaty of Paris 1763
To end the Seven Years' War the French signed the Treaty of Paris, and lost almost all of their claims to North America.
In the Royal Proclamation British made the Proclamation line to keep long lasting peace between them and First Nations. British also gave back their freedom.
The Quebec Act 1774
The Quebec Act ensured that the French language and Canadien culture were maintained. Catholic people in Quebec were allowed to practise their religion. Allowed Canadiens to hold government positions, after they took the oath of loyalty to Britian.
