  • Forest fires have destroyed 4 to 5 million acres of land and go up to 
  • speeds of 14 miles an hour  according to the National Geographic website
  • There are 3 factors that are always present in a forest fire also
  •  known as a fire triangle which is fuel, oxygen, and a heat source
  •  experience some of the worst conflagrations in the U.S.
  • Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, and California
  • According to National Geographic website 
  • Never leave a fire unattended-always put it out before you go to sleep 
  • during a camping trip When smoking always fully stop 
  • the burning and dispose of it When getting rid of waste in a 
  • backyard keep all flammables away and don't dispose in windy conditions
  • When in a forest fire stay low and protect your lungs
