Storyboard Text

  • Hercules was the son of Zeus and Alcmene, granddaughter of Perseus.
  • The infidelity of Zerus upset Hera and she unsuccessfully tried to kill Hercules as an infant. She sent two serpents into his crib to poison him. However, Hercules had a godly strength imbued within him as a result of his immortal father, and strangled the serpents in his fists.
  • As a young man, Hercules was driven to attack and kill his wife and children in a state of confusion- (Philip! I don't like this so far!) And it was caused by Hera, of course.
  • Hercules felt so guilty, however, that he sought out the advice of the oracle at Delphi where the Pythian priestess there told him to expiate his crime by serving the king of Greece, King Eurystheus, for 12 years.
  • During this 12-year period Hercules had to perform the 10 labors the king would require of him.
