  • Anne Frank is a thirteen year old Jewish girl living in Amsterdam, Holland. Her parents give her a diary for her birthday and she writes all of her thoughts and feelings to her friend, "Kitty."
  • Climax 
  • The Franks live in German occupied Holland during World War ll. Margot is called up for deportation by the S.S.I. The Frank family go into hiding into Mr. Franks old workplace with the help of Dutch coworkers. 
  •  Falling Action
  • Another Jewish runaway, Mr. Dussel, comes to stay with them. The secret Annex is now even more cramped. They have very limited supplies, they have to stay quiet during the day, cannot go outside, and live in constant fear of being discovered.
  • Resolution
  • The warehouse just below the secret Annex was broken into. The police come to investigate and nearly find the entrance to the Annex where the Franks were hiding. Everyone had to stay still and silent for a while, to avoid being caught.
  • The Gestapo make arrests and take many people away in the occupied countries. The green grocer is arrested for hiding two Jews. The secret Annex receives less food than before.
  • Their hiding place has been discovered! The Gestapo come to the secret Annex ans take away the Franks, the Van Daans, and Mr, Dussel. Anne didn't have anymore time to write in her journal before the Gestapo came.
