  • It was declared by the British crown at the end of the French and Indian War in North America, mainly intended to conciliate the Native Americans by checking the encroachment of settlers on their lands.
  • Why can´t we settel past the Proclamation line. I want to live in the Ohio Valley. 
  • The Indians don´t deserve to own the lands. 
  • It closed off the frontier for expansion. Colonists felt that it deprived them of land for settlement and that they were paying for something that only England wanted.
  • In 1763, at ethe end of the French and Indian War, the British issued aproclamation,mainly intended to conciliate the Indians by checking the encroachment of settlers on their lands.
