Theme: Blaming others and trying to find scrapecoat can lead to violence.
Evidence 1: When Charlie tells Steve: ¨You are going to talk us all into a grave Steve!¨When Charlie told Steve that, he had a shotgun in his hand. When Charlie had a shotgun and told Steve that, it was kind of like threatening.

After Charlie and Steve argue, Charlie ends up killing Pete Van Horn. When he kills him Steve says: ¨Why do you kill so quickly Charlie?¨ After Steve questions Charlie, Charlie runs inside his house. The residents of Maple Street start to throw rocks at Charlie´s house. Charlie gets scared and blames Tommy that he is the ¨Monster.¨

When Charlie blamed Tommy every resident on Maple Street start to question each other. Then, everything goes to chaos. Neighbors turn on each other with guns and everybody starts to run and scream. Maple Street is chaos.
Explanation of evidence: When the residents start to argue, Charlie has a shotgun in his hand , and it seems to be that Charlie is threatening Steve. And using guns could lead to violence.
Explanation of evidence: After arguing with Steve, Charlie ends up killing Pete Van Horn. Charlie killed Pete Van Horn because when he was arguing with Steve he had a shotgun in his hands.
Explanation of evidence: Blaming and trying to find a scrapegoat could lead to violence, and it did on Maple Street. Maple Street is CHAOS.
