  • The Marble - A symbol of good-luck, security and, confidence The Gestapos Black Boots - Whenever Henry heard the sound of the boots of saw them, he knew nothing good was about to happen. So, the boots stand for terror and violence.

  • #39.) Why do some persevere and others don’t? Some people persevere and others don't because, some just have the will to fight and will do whatever they can to get something accomplished, and others just don't have the will or the want. This relates to our book because Henry will do whatever to get home, whereas Billy has nothing to live for.
