Storyboard Text

  • Equality in Kindergarten by: Karleigh Lee-Rodgers and Gabriyah Gadsby
  • Malcolm is so weird! Hahahaha
  • Malcolm is six years old and it is his second week of kindergarten. He is playing with one of the toy trains in the classroom when a couple of his classmates come up and take his toy. This makes Malcolm upset.
  • Later when playtime comes around, Jack and his friends do not play with him on the playground and call him names. This makes Malcolm very angry.
  • Because Malcolm feels very sad and angry, he ends up hitting Jack when the class heads back inside. This causes Malcolm to get in trouble by the teacher.
  • Luckily, Cindy, another one of Malcolm’s classmates, stands up for him by telling the teacher what Jack and his friends had been doing to him.
  • The teacher apologizes to Malcolm for punishing him, and instead Jack and his friends get in trouble.
  • At the end of the day, the teacher tells the class that they should treat everyone equally.
