The Irish immigrated to america for many reasons. Including the potato famine in which they ran out of potato's and many people were starving. Another reason is they were facing poverty and disease, and they wanted a opportunity in america.
Many of french immigrated to the United States during the French Revolution, when they wanted to escape it. They thought america would be a better opportunity. Then in the 1800's other French wanted to be closer to their family, and a better life.
