Storyboard Text

  • VERBAL IRONY
  • It's perfect. It really suits you. Don't you like it?
  • This is beautiful! I like it, darling. I like it!
  • Where is my mink coat?! I'm going to kill that pawnbroker for not giving my mink coat back!
  • DRAMATIC IRONY
  • I'm going to see the Colonel again.
  • Darling, I'm going to visit Aunt Maude in Baltimore on Friday.
  • Just so long as you don't ever expect me to accompany you.
  • SITUATIONAL IRONY
  • This mink coat was a parting gift?! Just when I was feeling so happy, there's no more Colonel.
  • That man must be mad at me!
  • Giving Mrs Bixby a neckpiece instead of the mink coat was part of Mr Bixby's plan. So, he was trying to insult her by telling her that the neckpiece is really beautiful.
  • The audience/reader knows that Mrs Bixby's monthly visit to Aunt Maude is just her alibi to meet up with the Colonel.
  • Mrs Bixby didn't expect that the gift he received from the Colonel was a parting gift.
