  • Once Perseus and Danae ended up on the Island Perseus couldn't help but cry because he was starving. A fisherman found the box hearing Perseus wails. Perseus grew up to be a strong independent man.
  • Meeting with a Mentor
  • Perseus' call to adventure is when he agreed to get a gift for Polydectes. He was asked to to bring back Medusa's head.
  • Crossing the Threshold
  • Perseus was reluctant about everything until out of nowhere gracious Athena appeared with a gift. She gave him a shield to protect him from Medusa. Then she sent him to a guide who brought a sword to cut of Medusa's head.
  • Test, Allies, and Enemies
  • A goddess and god overheard Perseus. First Athena and then Hermes. They both told Perseus they would would be his guide to help him through his journey.
  • Hermes guided Perseus to the gray land. This is where Perseus was told he would begin his long journey.
  • The Gray Women were a stopping point in the beginning of his journey. Perseus was told by Hermes to steal their eye until they told him the correct directions to the Nymphs of the North.
