  • Maroo of the Winter Caves by Ann Turnball
  • Ch.1: The Thaw & Ch.2: The Spring Killing
  • We need to take the trail around White Mountain so no one gets hurt.
  • Yes, it's much too dangerous with the spirits.
  • Ch.3: On the Great Plain & Ch.4: Wild Dog
  • We should keep him. He would be very useful. He also has a broken leg, we have to save him.
  • Yeah I think your right.
  • *Whimper*

  • Did you see those Seal People?!
  • Yeah! They are coming nearer!
  • The tribe leaves early in the morning along the White Mountain path. Before they leave Areg explains to old mother that is too dangerous to go pass the White Mountain.  The spirits were too way dangerous.
  • Ch.7: The Ibex Hunt & Ch.8: The Silent Drum
  • *cries*
  • :(
  • Maroo and Otak find this pup by his mother but his mother was dead. The pup's leg is broken. They decided to keep the pup and call him Rivo. Rivo was a very good dog. He was also trained very well.
  • Ch.9: No Smoke & Ch.10: Old Mother's Decision 
  • Go away! Now! Hurry up!
  • *Barks*
  • Maroo and Otak kept the dog rivo and they went to the ocean to play. Otak had noticed something bobbing up and down. Otak had exclaimed that it was the Seal People. Maroo agreed with him. 
  • Areg and Vorka left to go hunt some ibex. While they were hunting Areg fell. He fell off the cliff! He died. Then Vorka fell. He lived though. The family rushed to go save them. The lost of Areg was very sad. 
  • Maroo and Otak encounter two white mountain lions. The lions had killed a deer so Maroo and Otak quickly lit there stick. They waved the torch in the lions face and the lions left.  They both brought back meat.
