Storyboard Text

  • Hi! You must be the coach My name is James. I'm trying out for the football team, today. I'm very motivated and inspire to lead the team to victory.
  • Hi James. I'm glad that you want to be on the team. Well, Good Luck!
  • Hi, James. I called you in today regarding the football team. We randomly drug test students joining any athletic sports. Your name was chosen.
  • Ummmm...Okay. I'll let my parents know what's happening.
  • This is definitely illegal. This violates the 4th Amendment which was given to me by the U.S Consitution.
  • Mom, Dad! The principal called me up during class. He said that I was chosen to be tested for drugs only because I was joining the Football Team
  • This is not right. This violates the rights given by the U.S. Government. We are going to sue the school district and bring this up to the Supreme Court.
  • Unfortunately, James was restricted from joining the school Football Team for the whole season.  There was no evidence or proof that James Acton was using drugs.
  • I'm really sorry, James. The School won't allow you to play on the team unless you're tested for drugs.  Don't worry. The team will be waiting for you.
  • The Acton Family brought this case up to the Supreme Court after suing the school district. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the School. As this violates the 4th amendment of privacy Schools around the country are supposed to help the students when they don't want it
  • According to the United States Constitution, what the School did was constitutional. Schools are supposed to ensure safety and well-being of students.
  • The Public School James was attending did the right thing by taking a urine sample, taking away some but not all of their privacy. Public Schools can now require each student joining extracurricular activities to be drug tested.
  • As students enter School, they are obligated to follow the rules that are strictly forced. They lose most of their rights in Public Schools, but not all.
