Banquo gets nightmares because of the witches' prophecies.
It is late sir.
Banquo gives Macbeth a diamond from the king for the hospitality of his wife and servants.
Who is there? Give me my sword!
Do not worry, I am a friend.
Macbeth butters up Banquo by saying they were not prepared, and responds to hearing about Banquo's nightmares about the witches by saying he does not think about them, to make Banquo think he does not care about being king.
Macbeth attempts to bribe Banquo here by telling him if he is loyal, he will reap rewards while Macbeth is king, but Banquo wants a clear conscious.
Anything you want, as long as it is good.
If you are loyal to me, you will benefit.
Macbeth sees a bloody dagger in front of him, foreshadowing the murder he is about to commit. He goes slightly crazy and talks to the bloody dagger about his plan, then decides to go through with it.
Macbeth tells the floor not to echo so nobody knows what he is doing. He tells himself it is as good as done, that Duncan will be dead.
